Study Review

The purpose of this study was to develop and refine an app that delivers cognitive behavioral therapy through smart speakers to breast cancer survivors who are experiencing sleep difficulties. The researchers will use participants’ feedback to make improvements to the app and will recruit new volunteers to participate in a clinical trial that aims to determine whether the smart speaker app is an effective way to reduce symptoms of insomnia.

The initial Call to Action for this phase of the study was on 8/16/2021 and the researchers closed enrollment on the same day. The Love Research Army provided them with 63 participants who were interested in enrolling.

We combat the disparities that exist in research by challenging the scientific community to launch studies that are as inclusive and diverse as the people that breast cancer affects.
