Study Review

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of the stress associated with the COVID-19 pandemic on people who are being or have been treated for breast cancer. By learning about how stress, social isolation, and loneliness are affecting people with breast cancer, the researchers hope to provide a foundation for further research to mitigate the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on patient outcomes.

The initial Call to Action for this study was on 08/11/2020 and the researchers closed enrollment on 03/01/2021. The study enrolled 998 participants, 581 of whom were sourced through the Love Research Army.

Love Research Army

We combat the disparities that exist in research by challenging the scientific community to launch studies that are as inclusive and diverse as the people that breast cancer affects.
