The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between physical activity and memory in women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. Using an iPhone app and an activity monitor, this study measured participants’ cognitive function, physical activity, and quality of life. Findings from this study will be used to help the researchers develop a program aimed at improving cognitive function and quality of life in women with breast cancer.
The researchers wanted to enroll up to 1000 volunteers from the Army of Women (AOW) from across the United States. The Call to Action for this study was sent to AOW members on July 8th, 2015. The researchers closed enrollment on March 26th, 2018, after the AOW provided them with 834 women who were interested in enrolling in the study.
