Breast Cancer Explained

Breast cancer is a complex disease. There are several subtypes of breast cancer and many options for treatment. While many people may have similar diagnoses or are prescribed similar treatments, no two people’s experiences are exactly the same.

The content in this section is intended to educate and inform patients and their families and friends. Much of the information draws directly from the recently revised 6th edition of Dr. Susan Love’s Breast Book. It is constantly being updated and new material is added as research continues to expand our understanding of the disease and its current treatments.

Knowledge is power, and education is a powerful tool. By translating complex concepts into easily digestible information, we’re helping everyone better understand the human breast, the causes of breast cancer and how we can prevent it, the promising new directions of the most recent research, and the pros and cons of different treatment options.
