Study Information

Stepping STONE (Survivors Taking on Nutrition & Exercise)

Researchers at Georgetown University in Washington, DC, developed a program that they hope will help Black/African-American breast cancer survivors increase their physical activity and improve their diet. This study is looking at the effectiveness of the program in improving the quality of health behaviors. The researchers wanted to enroll 50 Black/African-American breast cancer survivors in the study. The Call to Action for this study was sent to Army of Women members on October 12, 2011. When the research team closed enrollment on February 7, 2013, the Army of Women had provided them with 23 women who were interested in enrolling in the study.

Love Research Army

We combat the disparities that exist in research by challenging the scientific community to launch studies that are as inclusive and diverse as the people that breast cancer affects.
