The Health of Women Study (HOW)

After over 6 years, the Health of Women (HOW) Study® closed.
Thank you for your participation!

After over six years, we ended the data-collection phase of The HOW Study. This means that the online questionnaires were closed, too.

Our team then worked with collaborators around the country to use the de-identified data to better understand breast cancer and its potential causes. Your impactful decision to participate in this research helped us get one step closer to eradicating breast cancer. We can’t thank you enough.

The HOW Study was a first-of-its-kind international online study, with a goal to better understand breast cancer and its potential causes. HOW asked health-related questions on topics like family history, reproductive health, diet, and exercise. Your dedication and willingness to participate has already contributed to interesting research findings, including which factors affect whether people are adhering to BRCA 1/2 testing guidelines.

Dr. Susan Love Foundation for Breast Cancer Research believes in keeping our participants connected. Results from this research will be made available to our dedicated participants, such as yourself, who made this work possible.

Interested in participating in more game-changing research? Join the Love Research Army today! The Love Research Army aims to connect women and men of all ages, ethnicities, and locations to researchers committed to solving important breast cancer questions. Our goal is to accelerate and increase diversity in breast cancer research.

The Love Research Army is recruiting for multiple studies. You can learn more about our open studies and see if you or someone you know may be eligible to participate.

Thank you for your support.

Love Research Army

We combat the disparities that exist in research by challenging the scientific community to launch studies that are as inclusive and diverse as the people that breast cancer affects.
